A dumb ass robber robbed a handicapped woman, then took a photo of himself using the stolen cell phone was arrested on Monday, when the photo he had taken was retrieved through the woman phone’s network, and Cincinnati police circulated that cell phone photo to the media.

He must be stupid to leave such a trace.

Gary Walker, 24, of Bond Hill, was arrested Monday and charged with robbery, a second degree felony. He was held without bond pending arraignment today in Hamilton County Municipal Court.

The robbery occurred Sept. 28, when Ashlee Hutchens, 18, of Hamilton, took a wrong turn in Bond Hill and became lost in the 4800 block of Reading Road.

It was dark and she got out of her car to check a street sign, said her mother, Christine Hutchens.

While she was standing on the street, the suspect approached and tried to talk to her. Ashlee Hutchens is deaf. He then snatched the cell phone from her and chased her to her car but she managed to get away, Christine Hutchens said.

Only the lowest of the low steals from a handicap person.

Weeks went by before Ashlee Hutchens transferred the data from her phone network to a new phone. That’s when the discovery unfolded.

“All of a sudden his picture came up and (Ashlee) said, ‘Oh my god, Mom, that’s him and that’s the shirt he had on,’” Christine Hutchens said.

“I get very upset when the elderly, kids or handicapped people become victims of these offenses,” said Officer Tamar Skelly, who is with Crime Stoppers.

Christine Hutchens said the phone was her daughter’s only way of communicating with the world.

When she saw the face of the man who stole that from her daughter, “it made me very, very angry,” she said.

“I know times are tough but it’s really sad that people feel they have to rip off handicapped people,” she said.
