Sweating is a perfectly natural process, but it’s one that many women (and some men) find unpleasant. Some people might perspire a bit more graciously (read: they don’t smell as much), but it could get pretty embarrassing for some people to sweat buckets while they’re in the limelight. Say, receiving an award and exhibiting huge sweat circles on their shirt while delivering their acceptance speech.
For people like that, there’s MiraDry. The procedure was recently approved by the FDA this year, and it claims to have the capacity to kill 22,000 to 30,000 sweat glands in the armpits, which reduces sweating by up to 82%.
A study has revealed that the procedure is effective for 90% of its patients, with the effects lasting for up to a year for most of them.
It does seem like a bit extreme to take care of a very human problem, doesn’t it? It’s expensive too, as it costs $3,000 for two sessions so you can get the full sweat-nuking treatment.
But hey, if you can’t afford it, there’s always deodorant.
