Have you heard of Marvel legends the Unicorn, Squirrel Girl, Ruby Tuesday, Frog Man, the Walrus, Hypno Hustler & Howard the Duck? What about the Trapster, or the dastardly villain Mr. Fish?

No, neither have I, apart from the vaguest childhood recollections of the grumpy duck named Howard, none of these ‘superheroes’ have a place in my memory databanks! But that is soon about to change, Marvel have been delving in the depths of their library of characters and have put together this strange bunch of oddball heroes called the ‘All Winners Squad’ for an online cartoon series.

Where I’m from, often the term ‘winner’ is used to describe someone who is anything but and I have a feeling that Marvel are probably going for that same sort of sarcastic undertone with the creation of this series. The bunch are kinda like the epic fail of superheroes and whilst they might not be nearly as impressive as some of Marvel’s other creations, I have a feeling that their adventures and mishaps could help them wing their way into the hearts of a new generation of Marvel fans.

The ‘All Winners Squad’ series are made by the same writers who brought you ‘Marvel Superheroes: What The -?!’ and though I don’t think that The Avengers or the X-Men will be able to hang up their superboots and sleep easy in the knowledge that these guys are around to battle evil and protect the hopes of mankind, they definitely have comic value!
