Many moons after Frodo saved Middle Earth from almost certain doom and destruction, you can imagine little hobbits being told the tale of his epic adventure by their parents and their school teachers. His portrait would hang in public places and illustrations of his quest would adorn the walls of all of the abodes in middle earth. No doubt scenes from Frodo’s quest would be depicted in stained glass, coming to life as the sunshine glinted through them and I can imagine that they would look something like these illustrations by artist Jian Guo.
Guo’s storybook illustrations depict significant parts of Frodo’s journey, there is the hobbits’ arrival in Lothlórien and their meeting with Gildor Inglorion. He has also portrayed scenes from Bilbo’s birthday and the ominous Moria mines.
Looking at these pictures has really made me want to watch the trilogy again and I think it would be totally awesome if Guo’s illustrations could be turned into real stained glass windows!
