The famed director and part time actor Kevin Smith is hit the big Three Seven yesterday while doing an on stage Q&A segment Bank’s Count Basie Theatre. Smith is responsible for such classics as Clerks, Clerks 2, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob, and Mallrats. He has also acted in quite a few movies including Live Free or Die Hard, Catch and Release, Veronica Mars, Scream 3 and even a few of his own movies. He’s probably most famous for his roll as Silent Bob in Jay and Silent Bob Strike back, the duo (Jay and Silent Bob) have appeared in quite a few movies as well.

Kevin Patrick Smith (born August 2, 1970) is an American screenwriter, film director and the founder of View Askew Productions. He has also enjoyed some success as a comic book writer and actor. Smith’s films are often set in his home state of New Jersey, and while not strictly sequential, do feature crossover plot elements, character references, and a shared canon, the View Askewniverse.
