Life-Size Standing Darth Vader Cake by Amanda Oakleaf Cakes

This is a 500-pound, six-foot seven-inch Darth Vader cake created by Amanda Oakleaf Cakes for the 600 folks attending the 501st Legion Banquet on Friday night as part of the Star Wars Celebration VI event in Orlando, Florida.

With a team of ten at the bakery under the joint-leadership of former Food Network Cake Challenge competitor Amanda Oakleaf, the giant cake took two weeks to make and four months of planning using in total 386 eggs, 57 pounds of butter, 46 pounds of sugar, 2 gallons of milk, 3.5 cups of vanilla, 32 pounds of flour and 210 pounds of marshmallow fondant.

If not for its donation to the Star Wars convention, the Darth Vader cake would have cost $12,000.
