This image, that shows a KFC employee licking some mashed potato that had been shaped to look like a woman’s breast, ended up getting the worker sacked after it appeared on Facebook.
The questionable image found its way to the Facebook page of Tennessee news station WJHL. It received more than 2,000 shares and nearly a thousand comments.
The news station determined the origin of the photo as the KFC on North Roan street and the employee with her tongue in the mashed potato was fired immediately.
KFC spokesman Rick Maynard confirmed that the worker had been terminated, but would not name the mashed potato violator, stating that it “wouldn’t be appropriate”.
In a statement sent to WJHL, Maynard said: “Nothing is more important to KFC than food safety…As soon as our franchisee became aware of the issue, immediate action was taken. The franchisee’s investigation confirmed the photos were taken after the restaurant was closed and none of the food was served. … Today, KFC Corporation is sending representatives from our Operations and QA teams to the restaurant to reinforce and retain on KFC’s high operating standards.”
This isn’t the first time that a fast food employee has desecrated someone’s food and it probably won’t be the last either! But you’d think they would’ve figured out by now that putting pictures on Facebook and other social networking sites, is only ever going to end one way for them.
Back in July we wrote about the Ohio Burger King employee who decided to stomp about in some lettuce containers and in August a Taco Bell employee from Indiana was caught out urinating on a chalupa. Both were fired and both companies said that food safety was top of their priorities…now if only someone in these organizations would be kind enough to pass that message on to their staff that would be really great!
