The kangaroo is a much-loved Australian emblem and one little roo decided to put on a bit of a show for some tourists that had just landed at Melbourne International Airport by going hop-happy in the airport parking lot.
Traffic came to a standstill as the car park had to be temporarily closed until the creature could be safely captured by police and animal control officers. I guess anyone who was rushing to catch a plane was not too pleased with the mischievous marsupial’s antics, but I’d say there was certainly a couple of bystanders who enjoyed watching it give police officers the runaround!
Eventually the kangaroo tired out and was tranquilized by an animal control officer, who will take it to a more suitable place for kangaroos than Melbourne International Airport could ever hope to be!
When I visited Melbourne, I wasn’t lucky enough to see any roos out rampaging on the town, although according to reports this is the second time in a matter of months in which kangaroos have disrupted proceedings at the airport parking lot!
