RingCon is the Tolkien themed convention that has been going on for several years now, which celebrates the world of Middle Earth and Tolkien’s accomplishments as a writer. Over the last few Cons, they primarily brought in actors and creative staff who were apart of the Lord of the Rings films. Well, it looks like next year the Con will be taking on a new name: HobbitCon. Changing the name to HobbitCon is unsurprising really, what with the release of the newest Peter Jackson film and two more on the way.
HobbitCon 2013 will be taking place on March 30th through April 1st at the Martim Hotel in Bonn, Germany. You can find prices for the Con tickets and hotel fare at the site, as well as directions on how to get to the hotel and all the amenities of staying at the Martim. Like other conventions, there will be a place for fans to shop for Middle Earth merchandise, activities and events, and (everyone’s favorite part) panels in which people involved with the film speak. While no big names have been confirmed yet, there are a slew of awesome dwarf actors who are going to make an appearance (Graham McTavish, James Nesbitt, Adam Brown, Jed Brophy, Mark Hadlow, etc.).
HobbitCon is only three months away, so I suggest getting your tickets sometime soon!
