Federal authorities have revealed the identity of the masked gunman who killed 14 and wounded at least 50 others when he opened fire at a packed movie theater as local resident James Holmes.
Holmes, who was wearing what appeared to b a gas/riot mask and a bullet proof vest, was apprehended shortly after the brutal attack. Police spokesman Frank Fania said ‘He did not resist. He did not put up a fight.”
A woman from San Diego identified herself as Holmes’ mother. She told ABC News that she had not been aware of the shooting last night before she went to sleep, however upon hearing it on the news when she awoke she was immediately worried that her son may have been involved.

She said she had not yet been contacted by authorities, but alleged told the news network that her gut instinct told her that her son was the masked gunman that caused terror and pandemonium at the Aurora movie theater. She said, “”You have the right person…I need to call the police… I need to fly out to Colorado.”
Some reports have suggested that Holmes was influenced by ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ villain Bane, who wears a dark mask obscuring his face and causes chaos and mayhem in the movie, but these reports are as yet unconfirmed.
