Interactive Google Doodle Pays Homage To Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy & Douglas Adams

Today’s interactive Google Doodle pays tribute to the late British author and humorist Douglas Adams who would have celebrated his 61st birthday today.

Adams’ was best known for the hugely popular series of novels ‘The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy’ which started life as a BBC radio play that aired in 1977 before becoming a series of books that were released in the late 70s and 80s. The Google Doodle is full of references to Adams’ work, which quickly amassed a cult following – you’ve got Arthur Dent’s cup of tea, Ford Prefect’s towel and Marvin the Paranoid Android also makes a cameo appearance. Adams died in 2001 aged just 49 after suffering a heart attack.

Adams was himself a vocal Apple fan, but this Google Doodle tribute would have undoubtedly brought a smile to his face!
