Have you seen the infamous YouTube clip of Fenton the dog herding the deer in Richmond Park, while his hapless owner hopelessly chases after him yelling his name?
If not, you are in the minority! The clip became an overnight internet sensation and has received millions of views. The soundtrack from the clip, featuring the frustrated owner’s voice repeating the runaway hound’s name over and over again with a growing level of alarm, has been taken by the internet savvy and put onto scenes from movies like Jurassic Park, The Lion King, and Pirates of The Caribbean.
Ali Goodyear, whose 13-year-old son filmed the incident on his phone, told the BBC that they were amazed by how popular the video clip had become.
Fenton’s owner, an architect from South West London, has tried to shy away from notoriety gained by his boisterous pet, especially after suggestions that he may be prosecuted by police for endangering the protected deer in Richmond Park by failing to control the frantic Fenton!
