Last week infamous fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg brought a bit of geek-chic to New York Fashion Week by turning up at her Spring/Summer 2013 show wearing Google Glass and having several her models wander down the catwalk also wearing the ‘augmented reality’ Glasses.
Now she has premiered the first video shot entirely using Google Glass footage. The short video features several DVF point of view shots, showing the world through the eyes of the fashion designer as she discusses her goals, dreams and ambitions as well as several shots from the show.
The footage is incredibly stable when you think that it is shot from someone’s face as they wander around the place, probably wearing wibbly-wobbly high-heeled shoes. But no doubt DVF had some seriously talented editors put together the piece, which probably helped.
In saying that, there is no denying that the Google Glass is an awesome piece of technology capturing some fantastic P.O.V shots through awesome angles. The way it records the color and light in those shots is also very impressive. The closing shot of DVF bringing Sergey Brin up onto the stage for the bow was a nice touch.
