Dumb Crime – Murderers Leave Incriminating Digital Trail

Today’s tale of mind-bogglingly dumb criminal behavior comes from Florida, where a couple who have been accused of strangling a 19-year old Juliana Mensch will almost definitely face lengthy jail-terms after leaving in their wake an exceptionally extensive trail of incriminating digital evidence. It actually makes you wonder if this couples’ end game was actually to end up in a state penitentiary!!

It certainly does seem like this couple definitely haven’t heard of ‘incognito mode’, nor did it occur to them to delete text messages about their crimes from their dang phones. Guess they haven’t ever seen an episode of CSI or Criminal Minds before huh?

Some of the evidence that points to the fact that James Ayers, 32, and Nicole Okrzersik, 23, were involved in the murder of Mensch, who was killed on March 24th for drug money, was found on their computer. Okrzesik did an internet search for ‘chemicals to passout a person’, ‘how to poison someone’ and, wait for it…’ways to kill people in their sleep’. You’d think this was about as blatant as you could get, but it only gets worse. Apparently the murder didn’t bring the couple together and they had a bit of an argument via text message on the day that Mensch was killed over how to dispose of her body.

It has been alleged that Ayers texted Okrzesik threatening that he would call the police if she failed to return home and assist him in the disposal of the body. Okrzesik replies by asking him why he would bother doing that and risk destroying bother their lives, when “we can just get rid of the shit and move on.”

Obviously they don’t come to any kind of reasonable agreement over how to get rid of the body, as Ayers texts Okrzesik again saying “We have a dead body in the house and you want to play?” Play what exactly? The role of a complete and utter idiot perhaps?

As if that wasn’t bad enough, and it really is bad enough, it has also been claimed that the couple went on to discuss their crime on Facebook. Seriously, surely nobody is THAT STUPID? I mean most people with half a brain would be wary of putting the details of even a minor crime on a social networking site let alone discussing a murder on there. Oh and the couple were really guilt-stricken and full of remorse after they committed this heinous crime, as you will be able to see from the pictures they posted (also on Facebook) of themselves celebrating at a bar just a few hours after Mensch was killed. What a lovely couple, they obviously deserve each other!

That must have been one serious party, because it seems they never did get round to moving that pesky body – cops found all of this evidence after complaints from Ayers’ landlord about the odor of a rotting corpse in his apartment….So they just left it there to decompose? In the house where they live?? These have got to be the dumbest criminals that I have written about yet!

While it is fun to laugh and point at the spectacle of stupidity that is Ayers and Okrzesik’s alleged behavior, on a more serious note, anyone who carries on like deserves a serious amount of jail time and I really hope that they end up behind bars for a lengthy period indeed!
