Those of you out there who like going out and partying can appreciate that sometimes the excessive consumption of alcohol can lead to certain important items being misplaced. Many of us will have lost keys, jackets, phones, purses, the plot etc after heavy nights out – but losing your car is something else!!
One man from southern Germany was reunited with his car after being unable to find it after a drunken night out – 2 years ago!!!
Bavarian police said that the man went out drinking in December 2010 and couldn’t remember where he had parked the vehicle. He spent the next day looking for it, but was unsuccessful and so reported his car missing to the police.
It was found just recently, completely by chance when a traffic warden noticed that its inspection stickers had expired. Ha, I guess sometimes traffic wardens can be useful!
It was 4 kilometers from the place where the 33-year old craftsman originally believed he had parked it. Police spokesman Alexander Lorenz said: “The weird thing is that it turned up so far away, although the owner was pretty sure of where he had left it.”
Lorenz also said that there were approximately 40,000 euros worth of tools like power drills and the like in the trunk of the vehicle when it was discovered.
That is one lucky drunk guy, if that car had been left untouched near where I live he would have been lucky to have found traces of scrap metal in the spot 2 years later!!!
