Cooking is fun. But if you’re still starting out, then it might be helpful to get in a bit more practice before you burn down the kitchen. One way to do that is to make use of this cooking simulator developed by Tokyo Institute of Technology.
The only thing you need to imagine is the food, because you’ll be using an actual frying and a spatula while you go on your simulated cooking spree. The goal of the simulator is to let the trainee chef see and feel the changes that the food goes through while they’re in the process of getting cooked
When you move the frying pan, the actual movement is input, and you can feel the ingredients through the pan. Also, the upper part of the system is a screen. When you look into the pan, you can see what’s in it through a half-mirror. So this simulator lets you experience looking into the frying pan while you hold it.
