Beverly Hills Caviar has launched its first touch-screen vending machine at the Burbank Town Center and this is one vending machine with a difference. Instead of the usual couple-of-dollar items you would normally expect to find in a vending machine like soda, potato chips and candy bars, this machine offers you a huge range of high-priced gourmet items instead.
The $50 – $500 range of items offered by this particular machine includes “a large selection of the world’s finest selection of caviar, truffles, escargot, bottarga, blinis, oils, Mother of Pearl plates and spoons, gift boxes and gourmet salts.”
Vending machines carrying an unusual (and often awesome) range of products seem to be a bit of a trend of late – you might remember recent Buzz Patrol articles about A1 Concepts’ ‘Let’s Pizza’ machine and Maggi’s Mash Potato making contraption!
These days, it seems like you can get pretty much anything out of a vending machine, perhaps even an unruly teenage soda thief (although that might take a little more effort than simply popping your coins in the slot)! However, fresh foodstuff seems to be dominating the trend.
The Beverly Hills Caviar vending machine might be a little too pricy for many people and I guess there are some who will be rather perturbed by the idea of getting a gourmet fish-egg delicacy out of one, but you never know, it might take off!
If you live in the Burbank area and fancy trying the machine out for yourself, then it is located at Burbank Town Center mall, 201 E. Magnolia Blvd, on the second floor and it is in operation daily between 7am and 2am.
