Harry Potter and the Hound of the Baskervilles?

J.K. Rowling has been spotted in Edinburgh cafes, as of late, leaving the world of Quidditch behind and focusing instead on what the world just doesn’t have enough of: crime novels.

While I’m not quite sure her foray into the realm of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle will be as magical as Harry Potter was, I’m hard-pressed to think most readers won’t at least give her a chance.

Of course, we gave Jennifer Lopez a chance when she left music and went into movies, and look how that one bit us in the collective ass.  Gigli, anyone?
