Bagpipes, when played well, can be a totally moving instrument, synonymous with the Scottish tradition, there’s just one problem for budding bagpipe players – the cost.

This unusual instrument is famously expensive, but there is always an alternative – you could always make your own, like Scott Martin and his buddy Todd Medema did, using PVC, duct tape and a plastic shopping bag.

They showcase their homemade bagpipes in this YouTube video and whilst they are never going to make it onto the soundtrack of Braveheart 2, they are still pretty impressive.
