Assemblywoman Linda Stender Pushing To Introduce Ban On Violent Video Games In Public Places

Linda-Stender
New Jersey Assemblywoman Linda Stender is pushing to introduce legislation that bans violent video games from all public places. Stender’s proposed legislation would see amusement parks, bowling allies, movie theaters and other public places prohibited from having games that are rated “mature” or “adults only” available to play. If found guilty of contravening this legislation, offenders would face huge fines – $10,000 for a first offence and $20,000 each time after.

In a press release about the new legislation, Stender said; “Children today are exposed to violent images more than ever. Violent video games can desensitize children to violence and give them a warped version of reality where violence and death have no consequences outside their TV screens.”Continue Reading

Sony Announce PlayStation 4 But Don’t Show Us The Actual Console

ps4-event
At an invite-only event last night Sony announced their first console to be released in 7 years, the PlayStation 4. However there was some disappointment because no one actually got to see the console, instead fans were told many of the specs, given a sneak peek at some of the games that would be available for it and shown the controller.

Sony also did not give a price range or a release date for the eagerly anticipated product, but they did hint that it should be available to purchase in the 2013 holiday season.
The controller is a Dualshock 4 with touchscreen, motion sensors and a built-in Kinect/Wii-style sensor bar camera. It is similar in shape to the PS3 controller. Continue Reading
