igrill
We all know computers don’t last forever and many of us will end up upgrading or changing devices every few years, which always begs the question – what do you do with your old one, especially if it’s as aesthetically pleasing as the Mac G5.

It can be hard to just toss them out into the trash or recycling, because they were once such a big part of our lives, so one dude who owned a now defunct Mac G5 decided to put it to good use and gave it a new lease of life as a BBQ grill, aptly dubbed the iGrill! Continue Reading

ironman-case
Iron Man fanatics (and the clumsier iPhone owners amongst us) might be interested in this epic Mark VII Armor case that will keep your smartphone safe from alien invaders, worm holes, the Mandarin and all those in his allegiance, oh and it should also protect it from the occasional drop on the floor too!

The Tama-Chan – A Portable Watermelon Fridge

tamachan-2
Check out this quirky little product created by Japanese company Joybond. It’s called the Tama-chan and it is a portable mini-refrigerator/heater that is ideally shaped to keep your watermelons cool in the summer. No, that’s not a euphemism though part of me wishes it was!

Portable coolers are awesome, they help us keep our drinks cold on hot summer days (if you are lucky enough to live in a country that has hot summer days) and in Japan eating chilled watermelon in the summer is a tradition. Apparently they even have an outdoor game called suika-wari which means “splitting the watermelon”! It’s a piñata-style game where blindfolded folks attempt to crack open the juicy watermelon with a stick. So really, it’s no surprise that some shrewd Japanese businessman has thought up a device to help keep that refreshing watermelon chilled and Japanese netizens have responded well to the quirkiness of the Tama-chan too! ScumbagJanitorGuy posted an image of the homemade helicopter fan on the subreddit for interesting pictures and photographs and it certainly amassed a lot of attention. Continue Reading

The iPhonebooster: A Trumpet Speaker For Your Smartphone

trumpet-iphone-amplifier
Check out this awesomely wacky iPhonebooster – a speaker amplifier for your iPhone made using a modded trumpet!!

The iPhonebooster was created by Vinnie Veen and is wireless and doesn’t need electricity to run, so will leave no environmental footprint (we can’t say the same for your iPhone though).

I vaguely remember reading somewhere recently that people talk on average 3 times louder when they are on the phone in comparison to when they are talking to another human being, well if that still isn’t loud enough for you, then maybe you should think about getting an iPhonebooster.
