A study compiled by wealth analysts Wealth-X has revealed the universities where students are most likely to become super-rich and it will come as no surprise that prestigious universities Oxford and Cambridge come out on top!

The study was compiled by counting the number of former students from each university that have an estimated worth over £20 million, including their earnings, properties and other assets.

Oxford has more millionaires, with 401 super-rich alumni compared to Cambridge’s 361, but Cambridge has more billionaires! After the famous two, comes London universities LSE, Imperial and the London Business School to complete the top 5! In at number 6 is Manchester, followed by UCL, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Birmingham. Continue Reading

As the U.S. reels in the aftermath of the horrific explosions that have so far claimed the lives of 3 people and injured many more at the Boston Marathon, actor, writer and comedian Patton Oswalt posted a message about the incident on his Facebook that has since gone viral.

Two blasts took place near the finish line of the world’s oldest and most prestigious Marathon, of which there were 25,000 entrants. Shocking footage of injured runners enveloped in clouds of smoke, debris strewn on the ground and fire and smoke overwhelming what should have been a joyous occasion has been seen all over the world. A third blast took place a small distance away at the JFK Library, though investigators have not confirmed that they are related. Continue Reading

Back in January we wrote about the dispute between the Turkish Cultural Community of Austria and Danish company LEGO. The community were angered by the “Jabba’s Palace” LEGO set from their extensive range of Star Wars saga models claiming that it was “anti-Islamic”.

They claimed that “Jabba’s Palace” bared an unwanted resemblance to the iconic Hagia Sofia Mosque in Istanbul and that the minifigs that came with the set depicted Asian and Oriental people as gun-toting, hookah-smoking criminals, slave masters and terrorists with deceitful and unsavory characters.Continue Reading

Back in 2011, the BBC asked their audience to take part in “The Great British Class Survey” that sought to determine class based on a number of different economic, cultural and social factors.

Mike Savage from the London School of Economics and Fiona Devine from the University of Manchester have defined the findings of the survey, which more than 160,000 people took part in. Based on the survey, they concluded that “we now have a much more complex class system.”Continue Reading
