A Bronx thief stole a 27-year-old woman’s smartphone near East Tremont Avenue and the Grand Concourse, but clearly he had little understanding of the technology he had just swiped, because not long after the incident, he posted a picture of himself on HER Facebook page.
The woman’s device was linked to her Facebook account and set up to automatically post pictures. The woman noticed the picture which appears to show the thief smoking marijuana when she checked her Facebook account later on. Olympic and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius has been released on bail, while he awaits trial for a premeditated murder charge. Bail was set at 1m rand (£74,000; $113,000) and Pistorius must hand over his passport and avoid his Pretoria home where his girlfriend, model and aspiring TV star Reeva Steenkamp, was shot and killed on February 14th. He has been ordered to report to a police station between 07.00 and 13.00 every Monday and Friday until he faces trial.

There was a new twist today in the case against South African Olympic and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius, when it was announced that the lead detective in the case would be replaced amid rumors that the current lead officer Hilton Botha had contaminated evidence and is facing accusations of attempted murder.
Some media outlets are calling Botha South Africa’s Mark Fuhrman (the infamous cop in the O.J. Simpson trial who was accused of contaminating evidence) and it seems that Botha’s influence may have jeopardized the prosecution against Pistorius.
Pistorius, 26, aka Blade Runner, is accused of murder after his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, was shot and killed in his Pretoria apartment on Valentine’s Day. The case has rocked the nation of South Africa, where Pistorius was considered a national hero. He is, without any doubt, the most famous disabled athlete in the world and last year, at London 2012 Olympics, he became the first double amputee to run in the prestigious sporting event.
The bail hearing took place on Tuesday 19th February and prosecutors claimed that Pistorius fired several shots into the door of a small bathroom where his girlfriend was cowering after a heated argument, hitting her 3 times. 18-year-old Penelope Soto has been given a 30 day jail term after she yelled “fuck you” and flipped the bird at Miami-Dade Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat when he doubled her bond because of her sarcastic “adios”.
Soto was arrested on possession of Xanax and made to appear before the Miami-Dade Circuit Judge. Throughout the proceeding, Soto smiled strangely and stroked her hair. In a discussion about her assets the Judge asked Soto how much her jewelry was worth which seemed to amuse the teenager who let out a loud laugh. Judge Rodriguez-Chomat warned her to take things “seriously” stating “It’s not a joke, you know, we’re not in a club now.”Continue Reading
California man, Karen “Gary” Kazaryan, 27, was arrested by the FBI on Tuesday and indicted for 30 counts of “Extortion, Threatening Letters, False Personation, Identity Theft, and Contact by Electronic Communication with Intent to Annoy.” He is also facing charges of “knowingly and without lawful authority [possessing and using the] identification of other persons.”
Kazaryan, from Glendale, is accused of gaining unauthorized access to the Skype, email and Facebook accounts of more than 350 women. Approximately 100 of his victims hail from the California area, with 250 more located in other states across the U.S. Continue Reading
