Yup, you read that right, Canadian artist Guy Laramee has recently published a series of awesome carved book landscapes. Using dictionaries, encyclopedias and whatever other quaint looking books he can get his sculpting mitts on, Laramee has produced this fascinating series.
Though I’m not really a fan of books being destroyed, I really like these sculptures by Laramee, they are delicate, intricate and almost magical.
The project is called “Guan Yin” and it is dedicated to “the mysterious forces thanks to which we can traverse ordeals”. He was inspired to create them after the death of his mother in 2011.
