A new trailer for the video game Batman: Arkham Origins was just released this week. Much like the already released trailer, we get a look into what this game will entail; however, unlike the last one, this time we get the chance to see a fair amount of game play going on. The game play is similar to both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, which this game serves as a prequel to, and some gadgets that disappeared after Asylum will be making a return in this one as well.
This game takes place five years before Arkham Asylum, and long before any of the well known Gotham villains have risen to take over the city. Even so, we’re set up for appearances from the Penguin, Bane, Deadshot, and the Joker (Troy Baker is taking over Mark Hamil’s voice work this time around). The main villains this game features are Black Mask, Deathstroke, Anarky, and Alberto Falcone, all of whom are making their Arkham video game debuts. In this game, Batman has had an assassin’s hit placed on his head on Christmas Eve and must get to the bottom of it. This game takes place before Robin’s involvement, and it looks as if Catwoman is not to make an appearance again (although there is always the chance of that being a surprise). James Gordon will be featured in this game, as will Alfred in a more predominant role than usual.
Batman: Arkham Origins is set to release on October 25, 2013.
