‘Bath Salts’ Blamed For Zombie Attack Cause Yet More Chaos

When the naked and crazed Rudy Eugene, 31, attacked homeless man Ronald Poppo on Miami’s MacArthur Causeway and in a frenzied assault chewed the majority of his face off, the world gasped with shock and disgust. The disgusting, gory details of the incident, the brutality of the assault and the fact that Eugene had to be shot several times by police officer Jose Rivera to stop him led several people to believe that the man must have been under the influence of some sort of powerful drug.

Officers working on Eugene’s case strongly believe that he had taken the new synthetic hallucinogenic drug, which is known on the street as ‘bath salts’. This is yet unconfirmed, as investigators await the toxicology report from Eugene’s autopsy, however there is a lot of evidence to suggest that Eugene was under the influence of something like this.

‘Bath Salts’ can induce serious paranoia, spiked body temperature, paranoid delusions, psychotic episodes and users do not feel pain when they are under the influence. That would certainly explain why Eugene continued in his savage attack even after he was shot and the spike in body temperature might be a hint as to why he was completely naked when the incident occurred.
Sadly, this is not the only instance of chaos and savagery that it is believed ‘bath salts’ are to blame for.

Homeless Brandon De Leon, 21, was arrested for disturbing customers in Miami’s Boston Market Restaurant last week, after getting into a fight with another man, Brian Yerdon, 33.

De Leon was reported to be under the influence of ‘Bath Salts’ which are sometimes referred to as ‘Cloud 9’ when he was arrested. It is alleged that he tried to bite the arresting officers’ hand and once inside the patrol car, he repeatedly banged his head against the window, whilst shouting “I’m going to eat you.”

The police report about the incident said that De Leon ‘growled and opened and closed his jaw slamming his teeth like an animal would.’ Similar to what was said about ‘Causeway Cannibal’ Rudy Eugene’s reaction when he was told to stop his attack.

When he got to the station, De Leon allegedly ‘growled at police officers in the booking area like a rabid dog’ and was put in a bite mask and restraints because he was acting so aggressively. He had also consumed the caffeinated alcoholic beverage ‘Four Loko’ (somewhat aptly named, wouldn’t you say?). The FDA are currently in the process of trying to get the creators of ‘Four Loko’ to alter the ingredients of the drink because several people have suffered from alcohol poisoning after consuming it.

At his court hearing De Leon said to the judge, “I have no recollection of anything that happened that night.” He is currently in jail awaiting trial on a $5,500 bond.

Because of these attacks and because of the particularly terrible side-effects of this new drug which is sometimes sold as a cocaine substitute, Miami police have been issued with a warning to show extreme caution especially when dealing with the homeless population.

In a slightly less violent, but almost as disturbing incident, Shane Shuyler, 40, allegedly stripped naked and exposed himself to a 3-year-old girl whilst under the influence of ‘bath salts’.
Police reports say that Shuyler was lying naked on a park bench at a children’s playground on North Miami beach and when Meline Matute and her young daughter approached he allegedly stood up and exposed his genitals to the girl, before saying, ‘Come here pretty girl, I wanna stick it in you.’

The family ran away and reported the incident to the police, they caught up with Shuyler who is said to have admitted being naked in the family area of the park. Police found a substance that they believe to be ‘bath salts’ in the man’s wallet.

I’m no expert on drugs, but these ‘bath salts’ sound like they make people do some pretty crazy shit, I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone would want to take it.
If there is even the slightest chance that it is going to turn me into a cannibalistic freak that wants to eat the flesh of random people then, do you know what, I think I’ll pass.
