Here’s Adolf Proper 1886 – 1950 aka A. Robbins, the creator of the Banana Man act, who died in 1950, performing his Banana Man routine from the 1939 Red Skelton short “Seeing Red”.
A.Robbins’ Banana Man act consisted of pulling various objects out from his coat. He was mute, except for an “Ooh” or a “Wow”.
Sam Levine, as seen in the video above, bought the act from A. Robbins performed as The Banana Man on Captain Kangaroo and Ed Sullivan.
