Good news for super-rich, Apple and Leica Fanboys, revered Apple designer Sir Jonathan Ive is joining forces with Camera creators Leica to make a one-off, super-uber-limited edition Leica M that will be auctioned off to raise money for charity.

The interesting collaboration project was announced at a Leica event by company owner Dr. Andreas Kaufmann. Jonathan Ive was supposed to be at the event himself, but for reasons unexplained, he could not make it, which is why the announcement went by without too much aplomb.

Infamous U2 frontman Bono will also be somehow involved in the auction of the one-off camera, although the details of his involvement have not yet been revealed.

Excited fanboys with unlimited bank accounts need to hold onto their checkbooks however, the Ive-designed Leica camera won’t be unveiled for quite some time, as the design process hasn’t even begun yet.
