Cornel Hrisca-Munn is like many other young men, he’s attending university, he enjoys music and plays the drums, and he even uploads videos of himself doing popular covers on YouTube. The above video clip is a cover of the song “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” from the latest Red Hot Chili Peppers album, I’m With You.
What makes Cornel’s drumming abilities and story so amazing is that he was born with no forearms and hands, as well as other birth deformities, in the most depressing of circumstances. Rather than let his disabilities get him down, he constantly seeks new solutions to overcome his physical limitations and continue moving forward to follow his own dreams.
Born in Romania in 1991, Cornel was not only severely disabled, but according to the doctor, wasn’t even expected to live more than a few days, so was never even issued a birth certificate. He was abandoned at at an orphanage in conditions that would make most of us cringe, and yet somehow managed to pull through until someone finally took notice and helped him out of his bleak situation. Today he’s attending Oxford.
