AD Creative Seek Funding For World’s First Bamboo Smartphone

AD Creative who operate out of the UK and China have been developing the world’s first bamboo smartphone, it will have pretty much the same insides as the Samsung Galaxy S III, incorporating 1GB of RAM and an additional 16GB of internal storage.

Users can choose to run the bamboo smartphone through either android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or use the company’s AD android operating system (ADAOS).

The ADzero bamboo smartphone will come with a 4.5 inch TFT LCD screen with 1280 x 720 HD capabilities. The display is 326 pixels per inch of resolution and also has a rear-facing 8 megapixel camera.

The company will be seeking funding for the ADzero bamboo smartphone on Kickstarter and it is expected that the cheapest version of the phone will cost about $500.

There I was thinking that bamboo was only good for pandas!

Without meaning to sound overly apathetic about the whole idea, I’m not really sure if there is a massive market for a bamboo smartphone, I mean is it something that we really need or desire? I get that it’s a ‘world’s first’ but sometimes there are very good reasons why things haven’t been done before…I also can’t help but wonder if making a bamboo case for a smartphone wouldn’t have the same effect but be slightly easier/cheaper!
