“56 Broken Kindle Screens” is a new, somewhat ironic, print on demand paperback put together by Silvio Lorusso and Sebastian Schmieg. It features pictures of the Amazon e-reading device with broken or malfunctioning screens.
The book is an interesting montage of a collection of pictures of these broken screens, many of which are fascinating to look at and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. The book shows the many ways in which E Ink displays can go wrong and it serves as an insight into the Kindle’s materiality.
