Patrick Swayze, who died earlier this week of pancreatic cancer at age 57 has been cremated and his ashes will be scattered on his New Mexico ranch (Rancho de Dias Alegres).

According to US Magazine, the residents of the North Carolina town of Lake Lure in which Dirty Dancing was filmed are planning a memorial service for the late actor this Saturday at 19:00 hour.

The service is believed to be held at Firefly Cove, recognisable to Dirty Dancing fans as Camp Chimney.

The service is free, but visitors will be asked to donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

What a wonderful way to celebrate a great actor.
