Kelis has given birth to her first child – a baby boy.
The baby’s father is NAS, who split with the singer back in April.
According to reports, NAS was at the hospital in New York yesterday, but he wasn’t allow to see the birth of his son.
A source said: “Nas is in New York City today, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his son. It was his intention to be there for the birth, but unfortunately he has not been allowed to be present. While this is clearly heartbreaking to him, Nas continues to offer his support and love to his new baby boy and his mother.”
The pair were due in court today to settle their divorce and legal disputes over child support.
Kelis was seeking £12,000 ($20,000) a month from NAS in maintenance.
The couple were together for over five years and married in 2005 after a two-year engagement.

UPDATE: The baby boy is called Knight Jones.
Nas was not in the delivery room at the time of the birth, he remained in the waiting room and did get to see his baby.
