When I got the link to this article and I saw the words ‘anus air pump stunt’ and ‘practical joke’ I honestly thought that I was going to be writing a humorous article, however upon reading the details of the story – it is anything but.

13-year-old Du Chuanwang quit school and got an apprenticeship in an auto repair shop in Xiajin county to try and help take care of his family. His mother had died a few years prior to this after a long illness and her medical bills had left the family financially ruined.

Two workers at the repair shop thought it would be funny to stick a high pressure pneumatic air pump gun into his anus and pump a load of air into the child. I’m guessing they didn’t realize the extent of the damage it would do to the young teenager – otherwise they never would have done it.

After the air was pumped into his body, it causes parts of his intestines to perforate, his scrotum is swollen, his intestines have been badly damaged and his internal organs have been squeezed together and even after several hours of surgery, he is still in critical condition in hospital.

I think the two workers responsible for the stunt should be made to pay despite the fact that I don’t believe they intended to cause this much damage to the boy, it is still a pretty twisted thing to do and it is their fault he is in that condition.

For people who are thinking of winding up their young apprentices may I suggest less life-threatening jokes, like per se asking them to go and get you a bucket of steam, or go to the shop and buy tartan paint. Funny and likely to do their heads in a little – but unlikely to leave them in intensive care!!!
